Home Visiting

The Home Visiting program gives an opportunity for Navajo prenatal mothers and families with young children birth to age five (5) to learn and better understand their child’s development through daily home routines and activities, so that Navajo families and children are safe and grow healthy.

Home Visiting Services:

Program Benefits:
  • ⦿ Helps parents and caregivers increase their knowledge about their child’s development.
  • ⦿ Early developmental screenings for early detection of any potential developmental delays.
  • ⦿ Prevent child abuse and neglect.
  • ⦿ Increase school readiness for children from 3 years old to age 5.
  • ⦿ Promote Navajo Language and Early Literacy skills
Eligibility:
  • ⦿ Open to all families with young children from birth to age 5.
  • ⦿ Prenatal mothers are welcome to participate.
  • ⦿ Caregivers who care for young children
  • ⦿ Single parents with young children.
Program Services:
  • ⦿ Families may receive direct or virtual home visits 1 or 2 times a month.
  • ⦿ Families receive Interactive lessons and activities with Navajo Culture and Language enhancements.
  • ⦿ Developmental Screenings for the child.
  • ⦿ Parent and/or Caregiver screenings for healthy living
  • ⦿ Monthly Family Group Connections and Parent Trainings.
  • ⦿ Referrals and Resources.
